(Norderstedt, 08.06.2021) The demand for funding for charging stations for electric cars in the private sector via KfW Bank is enormous. As of the end of May, over 431,032 applications had already been received there. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) has therefore increased funding for private charging stations to a total of €500 million with a further €100 million. Via KfW Bank, the purchase and connection of charging stations not accessible to the public at privately used parking spaces of residential buildings is subsidized with €900. This is particularly interesting for owners, condominium owners' associations (WEG), tenants and landlords. Only privately used charging stations with a charging capacity of 11 kW, which have an intelligent control system and are supplied with 100% renewable energy, are subsidized. The new wallbox variants of the Power Dot PRO series meet the requirements of the KfW Bank and are therefore fully eligible for subsidies.
These are not the first eligible wallboxes of the provider from Norderstedt: There, the devices of the Power Dot ECO 11 kW series as well as Power Dot PRO 11 kW versions are already listed. These wallboxes have a charging point with up to 11 kW charging power and are equipped with a charging cable as standard.
The new Power Dot PRO variants also provide owners and landlords with further options for the individual charging concept: Depending on their needs, customers can now also choose a charging power of up to 22 kW, and take the charging socket instead of a charging cable.
Access to the charging station is guaranteed by the integrated access protection via RFID. The charging consumption of the individual user can be easily read in the associated app, thus simplifying cost accounting. The charging status of the wallbox is visualized via the LED front lighting, while charging data such as charging current and voltage are shown via an LED display. Via the OCPP communication interface, the wallbox can also be connected to external backend systems, for example. Furthermore, the requirement of network operators to allow control of the charging station is also met.
The Power Dot PRO is pre-wired ready for connection and can therefore be easily installed by a qualified electrician. With the DC residual current detection already integrated, a cost-intensive type B RCD can be dispensed with during electrical installation, thus saving costs. Multiple Power Dot PRO wallboxes can be linked and remotely controlled via an Android/iOS app. The wallboxes communicate via WLAN. Load management can be implemented by specifying the maximum available power in the app without costly network expansion.
The robust housing protects the technology even in adverse weather conditions and thus guarantees safe operation indoors and outdoors. The Power Dot PRO can be operated quickly and intuitively. This makes it ideal for easy charging in WEGs as well as for tenants and landlords.
